Chapter 21
Dallas
When Grace came out of the back area with her jacket, she didnât make eye contact, and her cheeks still held the color from earlier. She looked good, and I chuckled as Jen gave me a salacious wink on our way out.
We walked quietly for a few minutes, Grace looking at everything but me. When she eventually looked my way, I turned to meet her stare.
âAll okay?â
With a slight shake of her head, Grace tugged at her ponytail. âWhat am I doing?â she whispered to herself.
âWalking home with your sometimes, most times, kind of, guy you hate?â The eye roll she gave me in reply was impressive.
âYou think so much of yourself,â she scolded lightly. âYou know we canât have sex again.â
âI know no such thing,â I said with a laugh.
âOkay, how does this sound?â she asked as she stopped walking. âI donât want to have sex with you.â
Tilting my head to the side, I looked her up and down. I moved closer and she stayed where she was. Raising my hand to her face, I traced my thumb over her bottom lip and then back again. When I pushed her bottom lip slightly, her tongue darted out to wet my thumb.
My mouth caught hers, and I felt her sink into me as I pulled her close, with one hand on the back of her neck, my other curled around her waist, pulling her tight against me.
Our tongues moved against each other slowly, tasting each other, taking the time to relearn how each other felt. Graceâs fingers hooked into the waistband of my jeans, pulling me closer.
Tugging on her ponytail, I pulled her head back, and my mouth traveled over her throat. I heard her suck in a breath, and her grip tightened.
âDallas,â she breathed as I nipped at the vein pulsing in her neck.
âMm-hmm?â I nuzzled into her neck, my hand already under her shirt, touching her skin.
âWeâre in the middle of the street.â
âI know.â Raising my head, I looked at her, seeing her flushed face, her dilated pupils, and her slightly swollen lips. âTell me again what you were saying?â
As I dipped my head, she surprised me when she rose to meet me, her lips taking mine. My fingers caught in the collar of her jacket, and I held on as I took over the kiss.
âTime to walk,â I murmured against her lips. âAs much as I donât care about where we are, I donât want to give too much of a show.â
I tasted her smile and when we separated, I kept a hold of her hand as we resumed walking. Our pace may have been a little quicker, and by the time we were at her front door, Iâd run out of patience.
Bringing her back to my mouth was all I wanted. Dipping down, I lifted her as I had in the restroom at the club, and just as before, Graceâs legs wound around me as I pressed her into the wall.
I kissed along her jawline as my hands slipped under her shirt and traced upwards.
